Simon Barker

Simon Barker is Commercial Director at Pro Gases, where he leads commercial strategy across a portfolio of gases that includes CO2 and industrial gas supply to customers throughout the UK. He brings nearly 20 years of leadership in the specialist chemicals and gases industry, with deep experience navigating the commercial, supply chain and customer dynamics that define today’s CO2 market.

Simon previously led a UK packaged gases business, driving its transformation from a small ammonia operation into a market-leading enterprise. Under his leadership, the business also developed a sister company whose heat transfer fluid range is now stocked in over 1,000 UK stores, a rare example of scaling a specialist industrial product into a mainstream retail channel.

Having partnered extensively with large multinational gas majors and end users, Simon offers a pragmatic, customer-first perspective on where the CO2 market is heading, from security of supply and pricing volatility to the commercial realities facing food & beverage, medical and industrial end users.
