Rich Brook

Richard Brook runs a sales and consulting business focused on Helium and Helium-3, with clients worldwide who need specialized assistance in solving complex sales, sourcing, technical, and logistics issues.

Brook spent most of his professional career in the semiconductor industry, with over 35 years of experience in design, manufacturing, and sales. After 10 years at Texas Instruments, Brook started Peak International, which produced precision- engineered solutions for semiconductor companies worldwide from factories in China and Malaysia. Brook took Peak public on the NASDAQ in 1998.

In 2019, he joined Air Liquide as the Helium Sourcing Manager for the Americas, where he brought several new producers online, significantly expanding Air Liquide’s North American-based sourcing. His efforts also resulted in Air Liquide entering the business of selling helium purification plants, which has become a significant new business opportunity for the Group.

In 2021, Brook became the President of Air Liquide Helium America, the division of Air Liquide that sources and distributes helium from Canada to Argentina. While managing this business, Brook implemented many operational, technical, and safety improvements.

Brook’s interest in rare gases and other molecules resulted in several new opportunities for Air Liquide, including the signing of a long-term agreement to source helium-3, an extremely rare molecule used in neutron detectors, quantum computers, and other deep tech applications. Brook is also developing sales channels for other rare molecules including Deuterium, 28-Silane, para-Hydrogen, and others.

Brook lives in Austin, TX, and holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and a Master’s in Engineering Management from SMU in Dallas.
