Joonas Laitila

Joonas Laitila is currently a Project Manager at Gasgrid, the transmission system operator responsible for gas transmission, the transmission system in Finland, and the builder of the national hydrogen infrastructure.

Joonas is also the Project Director in the Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor project, which is an EU CEF co-funded hydrogen pipeline project, with a Project of Common Interest status, connecting Finland with Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany. In his role, Joonas manages the project consortium and is responsible for all project operations.

Joonas is an expert on hydrogen, hydrogen derivative and hydrogen infrastructure related topics and excels at complex project management in the European clean transition context.

Prior to Gasgrid, Joonas worked at a Finnish Biofore Company UPM in its Energy division focusing on PtX development. Joonas holds a master’s degree in Energy Technology issued by the Lappeenranta University of Technology. In addition to his native Finnish, Joonas speaks fluent English and some Swedish.
