James is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and Chartered Scientist with experience of engineering design and management in addition to consultancy and operational support services to the process, energy transition and energy sectors. He is an expert in hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, decarbonisation, pyrolysis, oil & gas, gas storage, flare systems, chemicals, and petrochemicals. Prior to joining WSP, James was a Process Engineering Manager for Wood plc managing a large process engineering team, leading design and assuming technical authority roles in projects and frameworks. James has also been a subject matter expert for CCUS, renewables, low carbon, and hydrogen for over 15 years. He has worked on several key hydrogen projects, in both industrial and energy transition settings. These have included the Hynet, H100 and H21 programmes in the UK. James is also a board member of the UK Carbon Capture and Storage Research Centre, an academic centre co-ordinating CCUS research in the UK supported by EPSRC.
