Dr. Thorsten Küster

Thorsten Küster is the Business Director for ESAB/GCE’s Specialty Gas Equipment platform, which covers central gas supply for technical grade gases, valves and regulators for the instrumentation segment and most importantly equipment for high purity and ultra-high purity gases and applications. In his role, Thorsten leads the strategy, business development, engineering and R&D and global partnerships, to strengthen and expand ESAB/GCEs position as a global leader in Gas Equipment.

With a background in Chemical Engineering, a PhD in CO2 liquefaction from flue gases under higher pressures, and 10+ years’ experience in the industry, Thorsten brings deep technical knowledge as well as commercial expertise in the gas equipment sector.

Under his leadership, the GCE Spec Gas platform digitalized their internal and external processes, added digital product offerings and solutions to the portfolio and developed a proprietary UHP product line.
