Charlie Ker

Charlie has spent more than two decades advocating for low-carbon solutions in the heavy-duty transportation sector; first with Westport Innovations, then Cummins and most recently, Cespira.

Cespira, the joint venture between Volvo Group and Westport Fuel Systems, focuseson expanding access to HPDI™ technology by overcoming barriers to its global adoption. The fuel system technology allows internal combustion engines to operate on carbon-neutral or fossil-free fuels like biofuels or hydrogen—without compromising performance or efficiency and without significant changes to existing powertrains. The result will be substantial CO₂ reductions in long-haul trucking and demanding off-road applications as well.
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Charlie is currently on the board of The Transport Project in Washington, DC and is past Board Chair of the Canadian Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance.
