Buddy Damm joined Swagelok in 2023 as a senior scientist of metallurgy and is focused on enhancing existing products, developing new products, and defining which materials are best suited for various industrial applications and environments.
Prior to joining Swagelok, Buddy’s 30-year career in metallurgy began as a technical sales and service engineer in high-temperature materials research and development in roller bearing alloy design and process metallurgy; thermomechanical processing and process modeling of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys; and fatigue, fracture, and fitness-for-service analysis.
He also served as a senior R&D engineer, developing improved high-strength nickel alloys for resistance to hydrogen embrittlement. Buddy has expertise in the oil and gas, clean energy/hydrogen, aerospace, semiconductor, and general industrial markets.
He also possesses deep product knowledge surrounding metallurgy, corrosion, fatigue and fracture, and integrated computational materials engineering.
