Andy Hepworth
Chairman and Managing Director
Hepworth Brewery

Andy studied Microbiology at the University of Reading before beginning his brewing career with Courage, Barclay & Simonds at its Reading Brewery in 1975. In 1980, he joined King & Barnes Brewery in Horsham, West Sussex, where he was appointed Head Brewer in 1985.

During his time at King & Barnes, Andy led a highly successful production team that won more than 20 major brewing awards, including the Champion Beer of Britain title at the Great British Beer Festival. The brewery was also recognised as one of the world’s top ten breweries. Following the brewery’s acquisition and closure in 2000, Andy and three colleagues established Hepworth Brewery, initially focusing on brewing and packaging beer for other breweries.

In 2016, Hepworth Brewery completed the construction of a purpose-built brewing facility, incorporating a range of carbon reduction measures that have since become recognised as industry best practice. Andy continues to champion sustainable brewing while drawing on more than five decades of experience in the industry.
